Wedding / Event
saxophone and / or vocal
A great addition to any event especially for weddings is the addition of a saxophone player. Delivering a huge selection of styles. Simon can play self-contained with backing tracks and is equally at home performing alongside a DJ that can be easily booked / arranged or using one you have sourced yourself.
A seasoned performer with years of experience, Simon has performed at wedding and events since 1998 and has held weekly residencies in the past at a number of iconic nightclubs and wine bars in the vibrant and bustling club scene in Bournemouth.
From playing during the ceremony, filling the gap with subtle background tunes between ceremony and the wedding breakfast, playing the first dance, dance sets, or whatever you need - the connotations are vast...especially when doubled with vocals. You can simply pick 'n' mix your own tailored package!

Ballads and love songs
All the best songs are love songs right?!
Simon has a repertoire that goes on for days celebrating all the greatest love songs and ballads from over 7 decades of popular music.
Using professionally made backing tracks with accurate instrumentation and solid endings....i.e. no amateurish fade-outs or 'plinky plonky' cheap midi files - Simon can perform vocally with sax to recreate and deliver the songs as you know them and also add his own interpretation of these classics, for example adding sax that doesn't appear on the original or a complete sax instrumental of the song.
Opposite is just a tiny fraction of examples that can be performed.

Swing / Jazz
The resurgence of popularity with this genre was spearheaded some years ago when Michael Buble exploded onto the scene. Since then, swing and jazz has become a popular choice and has seen mainstream artists over the years recording their own swing albums including Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Lady GaGa and Madonna and in recent times has given platforms for jazz to enter the mainstream charts courtesy of Amy Winehouse, Raye, Katie Melua, Diana Krall, Gregory Porter and Jamie Cullum.
Normally with a foot-tapping, finger-clicking rhythm and bouncing melodies, Swing music is great for corporate events, meet and greets, cocktail receptions and product launches. Simon also offers a duo featuring sax, vocal and piano.
Opposite is a list of generic artists that Simon can cover - each with multiple hits and songs. These can also be instrumental sax or sax and vocal.

After being a professional musician since 1991, Simon's repertoire is extensive to say the least. One of his greatest assets is the ability to perform 100's of songs at any given time...but not at the same time!
Also able to create decade theme shows or themed styles, It's no wonder Simon is called upon up and down the country to appear at holiday centres, private parties, corporate events and weddings.

All the rest examples
Simon has often been likened to well-known online music sites due to his vast repertoire with one client saying 'he's like a human ipod'... and although he can't perform every song ever recorded, the choice and range of his material is simply staggering. Hits include classic bangers to the 'ahhhh i've not heard that for ages' scenario and you'll frequently hear 'wow there was something for everyone in that set'.
One thing is for sure - You'll be utterly surprised at the diversity.
Cabaret / Live Act
Simon has been performing live cabaret shows since 2001 across many of the country's leading holiday park operators and hotels including Haven, Parkdean Resorts, Hoburne, Waterside Holidays, John Fowler, Pontins, Unity Resort, Mill Farm, Home Farm, Hendra, Away Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Manor and Ashbury resort, Ladram Bay and a whole host more.
Performing mainly as a comedy-vocalist and saxophonist, the style of show is laced with audience participation, engagement, strong vocals and the ability to change up set-lists on the fly depending on the vibe of the room.
Simon can also perform completely self-contained using high-end sound and lighting made by Dynacord / EV and Senheisser and can offer a full light rig and starcloth backdrop if required.
“The embodiment of the less is more school of comedy, Mansfield has a sharp observational eye for what’s going on around him and his understated wickedness is impressive. No doubt any hecklers would quickly be put to the sword by him. Taking off his MC’s hat, the ex-army musician proved a fine sax player and vocalist, in the process covering Curtis Stigers’ I Wonder Why.
He has an interesting personality, a genuinely quirky, comic talent and is a fine instrumentalist”
